Sheryl joined CMC NV in November 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, specialising in Business Systems and Technology Management. With 22 years of professional experience primarily dedicated to business process analysis and project management, Sheryl has worked with multinational companies across Asia, the US, the UK, and Australia. Originating from the Philippines, once considered the ‘BPO capital of the world,’ she has gained extensive exposure to the complexities of business process deployment. This experience has equipped her to confidently take on diverse roles and assist organisations in addressing workflow challenges. Her multicultural background has also enabled her to work seamlessly in diverse environments. CMC’s business operations and work culture align perfectly with her professional passions.

Sheryl initially assisted in both sales administration and purchasing when she joined CMC in 2022. This role provided her with valuable insights into the front-end and core operations of the business. In 2023, she assumed the role of Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager, leveraging this opportunity to revamp processes and overcome barriers affecting production efficiency. The management has been highly supportive of exploring initiatives to enhance the company’s supply chain and procurement methodologies, which have become vital components of CMC’s sales strategy.

The electronics industry has faced significant volatility recently, with nearly all companies experiencing delays in sourcing components and high material costs. Sheryl’s department played a crucial role in CMC’s recovery from the materials and supply chain crisis. They focused on improving visibility and control, fostering internal collaborations, re-establishing supplier relationships, and developing resilient logistics strategies. These efforts remain ongoing and critical to the company’s success.

Supply risk is a major challenge in procurement, exacerbated by growing geopolitical issues affecting the supply chain. Learning from recent experiences, Sheryl and her team have proactively established insurance mechanisms against supply instability. This involves diversifying sourcing locations to mitigate the impact of any single event on production. Their goal is to fulfil production needs rapidly, reduce transit times and costs, and lower exposure to ESG issues.

Sheryl is also involved in CMC’s ongoing ERP-CRM optimisation initiative, supporting workflow evaluation, process mapping, and ERP supplier selection. This initiative is crucial for maintaining process efficiency and streamlining workflows, ensuring the company remains competitive in an evolving business landscape.

Sheryl is proud to be part of a workplace encouraging an inclusive and equitable environment.

Outside of work, Sheryl’s life revolves around her family. She has two teenage boys, aged 14 and 15, who share her husband’s and her enthusiasm for sports. At weekends she enjoys spending time with them, whether on the football field or basketball court during their tournaments. When not attending their games, Sheryl is often found in the kitchen, reinventing recipes and cooking dishes for her family. Additionally, she enjoys playing basketball and table tennis, listening to music, and reading self-help books in her spare time.
