SPOTLIGHT ON ANTHONY HOECKMAN

During November, some of our team will be attending ComVac. This week, we want to introduce you to a few of our members who will be on our stand there – starting with Anthony!
Can you share a bit about your journey working within the CMC NV family including a bit about your current position and how you got here.
After completing my studies in electro mechanics – option automation (evening classes), I started as a Support Engineer at CMC NV in July 2016. As a Support Engineer I learned about all the products produced in CMC and how to use them to support our customers with questions or problems.
In addition, I was also deployed to carry out Metacentre installations and to provide training on our product portfolio. Another important task given to me was to test new software and validate it for production use.
In 2020, following up on Metacentre projects also became part of my tasks.
In 2022, I was given the opportunity to become Product Manager of our Airmaster products (compressor controllers). As Product Manager, I am responsible for developing the Airmaster product with new functions/features. These functions/features need to be clear for our software team, which I need to describe in the Product Requirements Development (PRD).
As Product Manager, it is important to keep up with the novelties of the compressor market and understand how all different compressor applications work.
Can you tell us about an exciting project you’re currently involved in?
There is demand for large screens for the PLC, to display additional information (in animation). I will start programming a HMI to show the data of our existing controller but on a bigger screen (from 4.3 to 7 Inch). I want to be able to show the data in graph-moving animation.
Could you share a memorable experience from your time here or a significant milestone in your career within the company?
The most memorable moments are when a custom project is brought to completion. Creating a Custom controller and at the end the controller looks and is doing what they expect. These are long-term projects.
As product manager you put in a lot of time to make this work. Lots of hours in software testing and contact with the customers. But in the end, when it is accomplished, it gives me great satisfaction.
Whilst at Comvac, what sort of companies you are looking to meet/network with.
There are no specific companies I want to see. What interests me more is what is new in the world of compressors, how is something visualised (according to application) and which solution already exists with smartphone connected to compressor controller and what you are able to do. I am also trying to find additional information about existing compressor applications and their specific features
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy pursuing when you’re not at work?
Out of work, I enjoy being together with the family or with friends and having a cosy dinner now and then. I am a member of a local mini soccer team, basically a group of friends together playing mini football.
